Specialised Course for Directors through MIMCOL & Malta Government Investments Limited

Malta Government Investments Limited (MGI) and MIMCOL recently organised a specialised course for the directors of their various subsidiary companies titled  ‘Director Duties and Responsibilites’, held recently at GANADO Advocates. The aim of the course was to give an introductory overview of companies and  the duties  and responsibilities of directors. Dr Nikolai Muscat Farrugia and Dr Simon Schembri, from the corporate department at GANADO Advocates, delivered the course. During the session, the directors were provided with key information about the principles of Company Law, including Types of Companies, Distinction between Ownership and Control, Concept of Limited Liability, Legal Representation of Companies & Ultravires. The session on Directors roles and responsibilities included: Types of Directors, Duties and Liabilities, Appointment and Termination, Disclosure of Information and Code of Ethics for Board Directors.
